From day one we envisioned a project based on environmentally friendly principles. Our farming practices go above and beyond the strict European Union organic farming guidelines. Yet they are very simple: absolutely no chemical use at all including those currently permitted by the organic protocol. We farm by respecting nature and actively promoting the life of the soil and the organisms within. We believe that this is why our products: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Tuscan Sun Saffron and Wild Herbs such as Rose Hip, Fennel flowers  and Wild Asparagus are full of flavour and nutrients.
The agriturismo and hospitality here at Antica Quercia Verde Cortona have been designed and built following the same environmental principles that guide us in our daily farming practices. Many ecological decisions have been incorporated into the set up and management practices. These include energy efficient appliances, LED lighting, eco-friendly cleaning products, energy efficient insulation, 100% renewably sourced electricity, use of our own wood (pruning of olive trees) for heating the main building, thermo dynamic pumps and solar panels for hot water, recycling of waste and 100% reuse of grey water for watering the gardens.
We operate our farm and farm-stay ethically and harmoniously with nature. Inspired by the beautiful environment around us these values allow us to create a more natural and relaxed holiday environment for our guests. We are a fully certified Ecolabel Agriturismo for accomodation, hospitality and outdoor activities and all the produce from our land is Organically certified.
